I have had a DeviantArt account for quite some time now, and I really like the way DA has the galleries set up.  I like FA too, but DA has such a more professional feel.  But, the account I had wasn't really one I wanted to use with my furry art.

So I finally sat down and made myself a new DA account as Kaltazar.  It took all day, but every one of my 138 pictures from my old account are moved and it is ready to take new pictures as I have them ready.

If anyone is interested in watching me there, it is http://kaltazar.deviantart.com/

Wow, I really need to stop neglecting this page.  I have been making a few updates to my FurAffinifty page.  I have several sets of new pictures from both the Cincinnati Zoo and the North Carolina Zoo.  I have a lot of good shots, including this little cutie:

So go ahead and check out this little girl and my other zoo pictures.  I always like hearing what other people think about my pics.

Also, I have posts from my dabbling in digital art.  I am playing with digital coloring, my LJ icon is my coloring work using lineart form [info]zabercat , and we are also working on collaborations.  She is offering up rocking dragon animated avatars.  She does the artwork, and I do the animation.  See her FurAffinity page for more info if you are interested in commissioning one, or any other artwork from her.

And finally, I have a couple new videos up on my YouTube page.  I have one of the four tiger cubs at the Cincinnati Zoo, and I have a video of
[info]zabercat 's suit, Tari the border collie, greeting passing cars.

Well, that's what I have been up to lately, I will try to have more pictures to update with, and I will try to neglect this journal less.

Well, it took over a day's worth of uploading, but I now have a new YouTube account.  All of my future video uploads will go up at http://www.youtube.com/kaltazartiger

At least at the moment, I am not doing anything to the old account.  I might eventualy go through and delete the videos there, but not until I feel like going through and changing all the links I have posted.  So if anyone has me subscribed at my mooreus84 account, go ahead and subscribe to my new account if you want to keep seeing my uploads.

I am back from AC and finally got a chance to post.  It was a blast, I really enjoyed my first Anthrocon.  I spent most of the weekend being the spotter for [info]zabercat in her suit, Tari.  The panel went moderately well.  I know I could have done better, but I still wasn't too disappointed for my first attempt.

I do have pictures and video up, including a video of the entire fursuit parade.  See my FurAffinity and YouTube pages for those.

Despite the heat, I made a trip to the NC Zoo this past weekend with [info]dave_t_wolfe and got a few good pictures.  We went early, got there as the zoo opened at 9 on Sunday morning.  Our goal was to catch the red wolves up and about while it was still cool and the zoo was quiet and empty.  We managed to get there right as they were being fed, so we had plenty of chances for pictures.  Unfortunately, the light was too low for my camera but I still managed to get one acceptable picture.  I also got some good shots of other animals.  The lions and cougars cooperated nicely.  The pictures are up on my FurAffinity page.

A just decided to squeeze that small FA update in before I left for AC.  Tomorrow morning, I will be leaving very early and going to meet up with [info]zabercat .  Then on Thursday we will be heading out to AC and we should be there mid-day on Thursday.  I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and hopefully making some new ones as well.

Also, I will be hosting a panel at AC this year.  I am holding a panel on how to be a handler for fursuiters at 1 on Friday.  Come drop by if you want to learn how to spot for fursuiters, or if you are fursuiter who wants to train their spotters to be better.

Well, I have had time to recover from FWA so its time for the write-up. I have already posted pictures on my FurAffinity.

Read the story under the cut. )'s house and met [info]reccawolf there. We stayed overnight and left out around 7:30 on Thursday morning to arrive at Atlanta around 2 in the afternoon. [info]wally_wolf was already there and had our room. We just had to track him down for the key as he was already out and romping in one of his fursuits along with [info]digeri. We then went to the mall just a block away for dinner and to kill a little time until registration opened.  There was a little bit of a line at registration, but it was run very smoothly and did not take long at all.  I then went and spent the rest of the evening in the board game room playing some Munchkin Quest.

On Friday morning, we all went to a 24 hour diner nearby for some breakfast.  When we got back to the con, I made a round through the dealer's den then went to the panel on quad fursuit design.  Once the panel was over I wondered the con with my camera for a little while until it was time for dinner.  We went to a nearby Mexican restaurant then when we came back I went back to the game room before calling it a night.

On Saturday, I got a late start so I grabbed a plush skunk that [info]dave_t_wolfe brought to the con as a prop and got some good shots as the suiters started showing up for the group photo and parade. I managed to stake out a good location at the start of the parade and managed to get some good shots despite the poor lighting. After all 201 fursuiters went through the parade, it was nearly time for my next panel. I went to hear Kage talk about anthropomorphic anatomy and the challenges of artists and writers in designing believable anthro characters. I then killed some time just outside the headless lounge where a furpile had started until the charity auction started. There were many good items in the auction that made me wish I had a little more money so I could have bid, but the auction seemed to be doing pretty well in raising money for CCI. I ended up leaving the auction early so I could catch the next panel I wanted to attend, Kage talking about science and pseudoscience. Once the panel was over it was again time to find some dinner. After another trip to the mall, I returned to the game room intending to find another good game I could get involved in. However, I ran into a friend from SecondLife I did not know was at the con and ended up spending the rest of the evening hanging out with him and his friends.

Finally Sunday came around, the last day of the con. I went out to another breakfast at the diner, then came back to pack and load the vehicle. Once that was done, I made another round of the dealers' den before going to the fursuit engineering panel. Once the panel was over it was time to say good by to friends new and old, and say good by to the convention for the year.

I had a really enjoyable time at what was my first furry convention. It was not my first convention, I have attended DragonCon twice, but I have to say I enjoyed FWA more. It had a more friendly feel as a smaller con. However, as this was my first furry con, I came away knowing more people in the community then I did and I know what is offered at a furry con so I will know what to do next time around. In fact, next time around will be coming up in a few months with AnthroCon which I a very much looking forward to.</div>

This past weekend was a busy one. This was the weekend for the Furst Friday in Winston-Salem and I spent the weekend with a great crew of fursuiters.

The fun really started the Tuesday of the week before. Taking advantage of my spring break, I traveled up to visit the lovely Zabercat. After spending some time at her home, we both traveled back down to attend the Furst Friday. We met up with Dave T. Wolfe and went to meet the rest of the group for dinner. We met up with Wally Wolf, Spike, Royce, Reccawolf and Magnus.

After a good dinner, we all loaded up and headed out to downtown Winston for the romp. We had Wally, Loki, Royce, and Tari suited up and running around the arts district giving out hugs and playing with the kids. I was having to be a spotter more then usual this time around, but I was able to get a few pictures, the best of which are on my FurAffinity. I also have a couple videos posted to my YouTube here and here.

After the romp, we all retired to Dave's house for the night. The next day once everyone was up and ready, we went off for a round of mini golf. At the course we gained a few others, Digeri, Fruiit the Bat and Kittehfox. After mini golf and dinner, the group went to the Icehouse for some skating. The crowd this time was lighter then normal, but we still had a good time and the Icehouse loved us as usual. I even got on skates for the first time and managed to do reasonably well.

We all went back to Dave's again for another night. On Sunday morning, Zabercat and I left out for the drive back to her home. I stayed the night there and finally made my way back home on Monday. It was a long week, and a lot of driving, a little more then 500 miles each way to Zabercat's, but it was also a very fun week. I am already starting to look forward to the next Furst Friday and the next trip up to Zabercat's, but up next is FWA in about two weeks. I will have my camera along once again looking for some good shots.

Well, this space has been inactive long enough, time to start posting. I will at least post here whenever I upload new photos or videos.

So on that line, I have new photos up. They are not on my page however. I had the pleasure of being able to meet the adorable Zabercat and get pictures of her character, Tari the border collie. The photos from that romp are posted on her FurAffinity account. Go and see the cuteness!

I also took a short video at that same romp of Tari on the swing. That can be found on my YouTube, here.

Be sure to see my other pictures of fursuiters on my FurAffinity and my videos on my YouTube.
